Four more children die from measles symptoms

Four children have died in the past 24 hours with symptoms resembling measles across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The information was disclosed in a press release issued on Saturday.
The DGHS said 72 new measles cases were detected in the last 24 hours, while 1,024 people were reported with measles-like symptoms.
It added that the total death toll linked to measles and related symptoms has risen to 284 between 15 March and 2 May.
During the same period, the total number of confirmed measles cases nationwide stands at 5,218, while 39,325 people have shown symptoms of the disease.
So far, 26,911 patients have been admitted to hospitals with suspected measles, and 23,225 have been discharged after treatment.
