Experimental online classes have started in several educational institutions in the capital.
The pilot project was officially launched on Sunday at 9:00am through virtual classes at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College.
According to decisions by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, classes will now be held in person three days a week (Saturday, Monday, Wednesday) and online for three days (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday).
Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon said in a meeting on 9 April that one of the main goals of this initiative is to motivate students toward digital education.
If the pilot project in the capital proves successful, it may be gradually implemented across the country.
During today’s online classes, teachers were seen conducting lessons virtually from their classrooms within their institutions, while students participated from home using digital platforms.
Authorities of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College mentioned that although the program has initially started on a trial basis at the college section, it will soon be extended to the school section as well.
