Popular Dhallywood actress Shabnur has spoken out about the death of iconic actor Salman Shah, addressing recent statements made by Rizvi Ahmed alias Farhad regarding the case.
In a lengthy social media post on Saturday, Shabnur described Rizvi’s statements as “inconsistent, misleading and untrue” and strongly denied the allegations made against her.
Shabnur said she first heard Rizvi Ahmed’s name after Salman Shah’s death. According to her, Rizvi initially confessed to being involved in planning and carrying out Salman’s murder and later became a witness in the case. She claimed that Rizvi subsequently changed his statement and described Salman’s death as suicide.
Shabnur said Rizvi has repeated the suicide claim in recent interviews and has also blamed Salman’s mother, Neela Chowdhury, and Shabnur for his death.
Rejecting the allegations, Shabnur said she had never had any contact with Rizvi. She also denied his claim that the two were married in 2016 and separated in 2018, calling the allegation completely false.
Shabnur said she had been married long before the period mentioned by Rizvi and did not even know him. Taking a sarcastic swipe at his claim, she remarked that after hearing about the alleged marriage, it seemed there had been no real marriage at all, but perhaps a “dream marriage”.
She also strongly denied Rizvi’s allegation that she had blackmailed Salman Shah. According to Shabnur, his statements about her relationship with Salman are baseless and defamatory.
Calling for an impartial and comprehensive investigation, Shabnur said the truth behind Salman Shah’s death must be uncovered. She described Salman not only as a popular hero but also as a beloved co-star and someone she regarded like an elder brother.
“I want to make it clear, as always, that I had no connection whatsoever with Salman Shah’s death or murder. I have no idea how he died,” Shabnur said.
She added that Salman’s untimely death still pains her and expressed hope that a complete investigation would reveal the truth and that anyone found responsible would face exemplary punishment.
