The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations begin today (June 25) simultaneously across the country, with a total of 12,51,111 candidates participating this year.

Among the examinees, 618,015 are male and 633,096 are female. Of the total, 10,55,398 students are from the General Education Board, while 86,102 and 109,611 will take part under the Madrasa and Technical Education Boards respectively.

Examinations are being held at 2,797 centres, including 8 overseas centres.

To ensure a fair and peaceful exam environment, the Education Ministry has imposed strict measures.

Coaching centres will remain closed until August 15, and the use of electronic devices within 200 yards of examination centres has been strictly prohibited.

The Ministry has also warned of legal action against those involved in spreading rumours or violating exam rules.

Members of the Bangladesh Army will assist law enforcement agencies to maintain security during the exams.

Candidates must enter the exam centres at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

In case of delays caused by natural disasters or other unavoidable circumstances, extra time will be allotted to the affected students.
