12 Nepali air crash victims remembered at RRMC

Sylhet Office : The authorities of Ragib-Rabeya Medical College (RRMC) in Jalalabad on Tuesday remembered 12 Nepali students who died in an air crash at Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal in 2018.

Marking the day, various programmes were chalked out at its campus on Tuesday morning.

Teachers and students began the day by placing wreaths at the portrait-stone on the campus around 10 am. Later, a Remembrance Ceremony was held at the college auditorium around 11 am.

A documentary based on the victim students’ lives and their photos taken during their student life were exhibited at the ceremony.

Medical College Director Md Taraq Ajad, Vice-principal Prof AKM Dawad, all the departments’ heads and students, among others, were present on the occasion.

At least 71 people, including 25 Bangladeshis, died as an aircraft of US-Bangla Airlines from Dhaka to Kathmandu crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport of Nepal on March 12, 2018.

Off the victims, 12 Nepali citizens were students of the medical college.
