The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased the price of jet fuel for both domestic and international flights, with the new rates taking effect from midnight on Wednesday.
Under the revised rates, jet fuel for domestic flights will cost Tk 182.71 per litre, up from Tk 165.65 in September.
For international flights, the price has been raised to $1.1882 per litre from $1.0770.
The price of jet fuel for domestic flights has therefore increased by Tk 17.06 per litre, while the international rate has risen by $0.1112 per litre.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, BERC said the prices were adjusted based on the average international market price of Jet A-1 at the Platts rate between September 5 and October 4, along with the US dollar exchange rate used in Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation’s LC settlements during the period.
The revised rates will take effect from midnight on Wednesday and remain in force until further notice, the notice said.
