Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim has confirmed Daily Sun that he will be part of Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), taking the number of Bangladeshi players in the franchise to three.
Tanzid joins fellow Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana, who had already been drafted, while left-arm seamer Shoriful Islam is also expected to link up with the side pending a partial No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The left-handed opener heads into the PSL on the back of a rich vein of form. He struck a match-winning century in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) final and followed it up with a brilliant 108 against Pakistan in the series-deciding ODI.
Zalmi’s interest in Bangladesh players has been evident this season, with Shoriful emerging as a late addition after impressing in the BPL. The seamer claimed 26 wickets in 12 innings for Chattogram Royals, finishing as the tournament’s highest wicket-taker and setting a new record for most wickets in a single season.
Meanwhile, several other Bangladesh players are also set to feature in the tournament. Mustafizur Rahman has been signed by Lahore Qalandars, where he will be joined by Parvez Hossain Emon, while leg-spinner Rishad Hossain will represent a new franchise in the upcoming edition.
