Smuggled goods worth Tk 90 lakh seized in Sylhet

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-48) seized smuggled goods worth about Tk 90 lakh from different border areas of Sylhet district on Sunday night.
According to sources, several teams of BGB officials from different BOP conducted drives in the border areas of Sangram, Bichnakandi, Pratappur, Tamabil, Kalairag, Banglabazar and Sonali Chela in Sylhet and Sunamganj districts under the BGB-48 battalion.
During the drives, BGB seized different types of goods, including Indian onions, sarees, sunscreen cream, melon cream, face wash, body spray, sugar, blankets, cumin, betel, chocolate and hemp petals worth Tk 90 lakh from those spots.
BGB-48 Sylhet Battalion Commander Colonel Mohanaz Mulhaq confirmed the incident and said that necessary action will be taken.
