Arsenal comes from behind, beats Chelsea in London derby

Arsenal secured a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over Chelsea in the London derby at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The home win lifts Arsenal to second place in the Premier League points table, putting them level on points with table-toppers Manchester City.

Chelsea stunned Arsenal early in the match, taking the lead in the second minute through a strike by Morgan Rogers.

Arsenal immediately pressed for a response. In the 11th minute, Riccardo Calafiori celebrated an equalizer, but the goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.

The hosts did not have to wait much longer. In the 21st minute, former Chelsea forward Kai Havertz calmly slotted a shot from the edge of the box past Argentine goalkeeper Emi Martinez to level the score.

Arsenal took the lead early in the second half. Martin Odegaard capitalized on a pass inside the box from Christos Tzolis, applying a clinical finish to make it 2-1.

Tensions flared late in the game when a challenge by Declan Rice brought down Rogers during a counterattack. The heated exchange between the two English players resulted in a yellow card exclusively for the Chelsea forward.

Chelsea’s best opportunity to equalize came from Estevao. His curling left-footed strike appeared destined for the net, but Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya pulled off a brilliant save to tip the ball over the crossbar.

Chelsea failed to create any further significant chances in the dying moments, allowing Arsenal to seal a vital 2-1 home victory.
