Bangladeshi man from Sylhet shot dead in east London

Bangla Mirror Desk : A Bangladeshi man from Sylhet’s Bishwanath was shot dead in East Ham, east London, between late Monday night and early Tuesday, according to his family.
The victim was identified as Masum Ahmed, 40, eldest son of Mohammad Amir Ali of Purba Karikona village in Ward 3 of Bishwanath municipality.
Family members said police went to Masum’s home at around 4am (local time) and confirmed his identity before informing them of his death. They later learned that he had died from gunshot wounds.
Masum had lived in the UK since childhood and is survived by a daughter. Most of his family members also live in Britain.
His uncle, Mohammad Sumon, said he learned of Masum’s death on Tuesday morning but that the circumstances of the shooting and the identity of those responsible remained unclear.
Masum’s former colleague Habibur Rahman said he had previously worked for an estate agency.
The Metropolitan Police had not released detailed information about the incident at the time of reporting. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
