Four new RMG factories get LEED certification

Bangladesh has added four more environmentally certified ready-made garment (RMG) factories to its growing list of green industrial facilities, taking the total number of LEED-certified factories in the sector to 284.
Of these, 121 factories have achieved the prestigious Platinum rating, while 144 hold Gold certification. The country now also boasts 52 factories among the world’s top 100 highest-rated LEED-certified facilities, reinforcing its global leadership in sustainable garment manufacturing.
Newly Certified Factories
Among the latest additions, three factories secured Platinum certification, while one achieved Gold status.
Pahartoli Textiles Limited, Unit-02, located at the Ispahani Complex in North Pahartali, Chattogram, earned a Platinum rating with 86 points.
Everbright Sweater Ltd., situated in Kathgora, Zirabo, Ashulia in Savar, Dhaka, achieved Platinum certification with 83 points.
Siam Computerized Elastic Industries Ltd.–MUMTEX, based in Surabari, Gazipur, secured Platinum status with 84 points.
Meanwhile, Welldone Apparel Ltd., located in Baraider Chala, Sreepur, Gazipur, obtained a Gold rating with 75 points.
The latest certifications further strengthen Bangladesh’s position as a global leader in green garment production. Industry stakeholders say the continued rise in LEED-certified factories reflects the sector’s commitment to environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and improved workplace standards.
With a significant share of the world’s top-rated green factories, Bangladesh’s RMG sector continues to set benchmarks in sustainable industrial development.
