Bangladesh has recorded one additional COVID-19 death and 10 new confirmed infections in the 24-hour period ending Friday morning, according to the latest data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The new figures bring the country’s total death toll to 29,519, while the cumulative number of confirmed cases has reached 2,052,073 since the pandemic began.

Health authorities tested 528 samples during the reporting window, with a daily positivity rate of 4.02 percent. The overall test positivity rate currently stands at 13.04 percent, and the case fatality rate remains at 1.44 percent, based on confirmed cases.

The DGHS has urged the public to remain cautious amid a recent uptick in infections and to adhere to standard health guidelines, particularly in light of the reactivation of COVID-19 testing facilities at public hospitals.
