Argentina opened the post-Messi era in style, cruising to a 4-0 victory over Bolivia in an international friendly on Thursday.
The Albiceleste dominated possession and controlled the attacking tempo from the opening whistle, putting Bolivia’s defense under sustained pressure.
Their dominance paid off in the 19th minute when Lautaro Martinez broke the deadlock, giving Argentina an early lead.
Ten minutes later, Nico Paz doubled the advantage with a composed finish as Argentina went into the halftime break 2-0 ahead.
Argentina continued where they left off after the restart, with Cristian Romero adding a third goal to further extend their lead.
Lopez then completed the rout, sealing a convincing 4-0 victory for Lionel Scaloni’s side as Argentina began life without their talismanic captain Lionel Messi with a commanding performance.
