Emergency meeting of five anti-fascist political parties held

In light of the ongoing political crisis in the country, an emergency meeting was convened late Thursday night at the central office of Islami Andolan Bangladesh in Purana Paltan, Dhaka.
The meeting was called by the Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, widely known as Pir Saheb of Char Monai, bringing together top leaders from five anti-fascist political parties.
During the meeting, the leaders reached a consensus on extending full cooperation to the interim government led by Dr. Muhammad Yunus, emphasizing the need for essential reforms and the organization of a credible and acceptable national election.
Among those present were Nurul Haque Nur, President of Gono Adhikar Parishad; Principal Hafez Maulana Yunus Ahmed, Secretary General of Islami Andolan Bangladesh; Principal Maulana Syed Mosaddeq Billah Al Madani, Presidium Member; Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, Secretary General of AB Party; Maulana Jalal Uddin Ahmed, Secretary General of Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis; and senior leaders from the National Citizen Party (NCP), including Ariful Islam Adib, Professor Ashraf Ali Akon, Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman, Engineer Ashraful Alam, Maulana Sheikh Fazle Bari Masud, Maulana Imtiaz Alam, Mufti Syed Ishaq Muhammad Abul Khair, Ahmad Abdul Qayyum, Engineer Mohammad Lokman (AB Party), Sarwar Tushar (NCP), Mohammad Saddam Hossain (NCP), and Abu Hanif (Gono Adhikar Parishad).
The meeting focused on the country’s deteriorating political situation and called for unwavering unity among all anti-fascist political forces to resist authoritarian threats. Leaders urged vigilance against any conspiracies aimed at undermining the nation’s sovereignty, independence, and stability.
They also discussed strategies for future cooperation in nation-building efforts, with a commitment to maintaining peace and stability through closer collaboration.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman joined the meeting via phone call and expressed his support for the collective decisions and initiatives discussed.
The meeting concluded with a unified message: the path forward must involve a united front against fascism, ensuring democratic integrity and safeguarding the people’s aspirations.
