Ex-addl secretary Salahuddin found dead in Moulvibazar resort

Police recovered the body of a former additional secretary of the Ministry of Industries from a resort in Srimangal in Moulvibazar on Thursday morning.

The deceased Salahuddin Mahmud was serving as the deputy managing director general of the SME Foundation under the Ministry of Industries.

Srimangal police station Officer-in-Charge Aminul Islam said that Salahuddin had been attending programmes in Moulvibazar on behalf of the Foundation on Wednesday.

He left the event and went to his room of Balishira Resort, located in the Radhanagar area of Srimangal upazila, around 10PM.

Salahuddin Mahmud was scheduled to attend further programmes of the Foundation in Srimangal the next day.
On Thursday morning, as the resort staff did not get any respond from the room, which was locked from the inside, informed the matter to the authority concern.

The official said being informed they went to the resort and recovered his body. He said that they suspected that Mahmud might have died between 10PM on Wednesday and 8:30AM on Thursday.

The body has been handed over to AGM Masudur Rahman of the SME Foundation.
