Habiganj DC Debi Chanda withdrawn

Habiganj deputy commissioner (DC) Debi Chanda has been withdrawn following the directive of the Election Commission (EC).
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a circular on Wednesday (December 27) transferring Debi Chanda as deputy secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Rangpur Local Government’s deputy secretary Mosammat Jilufa Sultana has been appointed as new deputy commissioner of Habiganj.
In a letter to the senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration on December 25 last, the EC stated that it decided to withdraw the Habiganj DC for holding the 12th national parliamentary election in “a free and fair manner.”
In such a situation, the EC requested to appoint an eligible candidate withdrawing the Habiganj DC as soon as possible.
