Sylhet Office : A youth was, suspected as a robber, lynched to death at Bonkola Para area of the city on Wednesday (June 13).
The deceased was, identified as Dudu Miah, 38, an activist of Secchasebok League and a resident of the abovementioned area.
According to locals, Dudu Miah had been carrying out terror activities for long at Bonkola Para area. He had 4-5 companions with him in possession of local weapons, who managed to flee.
Sylhet Airport police station Officer in-Charge, (OC) Shakhawat Hossain, said The body, after recovering from the spot, was sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
The motorbike and a local weapon were seized from the spot, OC said.
Zedan Al Musa, additional deputy commissioner of metropolitan, said Dudu Miah was a gang rapist and a convict in several robbery cases.
