Nat’l Women debate competition to begin at SUST on Friday

SUST Correspondent : Two daylong National Women Debate Competition-2019 will begin on Friday at Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) campus.

 

Shahjalal University Debating Society (SUDS), a debate organization of SUST, with financial support of `Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF)’, is organizing the competition. Convener of this event Syed Nawroz Hossain confirmed this by a press conference on Wednesday noon at Shahjalal University Press Club office.

 

In the conference Syed Nawroz Hossain said that the MJF-SUDS 2nd National Women’s Debate Competition will be inaugurated with a colorful procession at SUST campus on Friday at 9am. The SUDS and ‘Manusher Jonno Foundation’ jointly arranged the competition, where a total of 24 teams from 14 public and private universities across the country will participate.

 

Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed will inaugurate the competition. The competition will feature rally, inaugural session, debate and ending session. The competition will conclude through prize giving ceremony at mini auditorium on Saturday.

 

SUDS’s President Tofayel Ahmed, General Secretary Ritah Binte Ahsan, former president Jannatul Tazreen, former general secretary Ali Newaz, Nur-e-Jannat-Nitu and others were also present in conferences.
