Tanjin Tisha gets bail in Tk 28,800 saree fraud case

Actress Tanjin Tisha was granted bail on Tuesday in a case filed over an alleged fraud and breach of trust involving a saree worth Tk28,800.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin granted her bail after she appeared before the court and sought the relief. The court also deferred the hearing on charge framing in the case.

According to the case documents, Tisha allegedly took the saree from online fashion page “Apponia” after promising to promote it and pay for it. The complainant later claimed that he could not contact her.

Apponia administrator Aminul Islam filed the case in 2025. Following an investigation, the Detective Branch submitted a report stating that it had found preliminary evidence supporting the allegations against Tisha.

The court took cognisance of the report on July 12 and summoned her to appear. Tisha had earlier secured bail after surrendering before the court on August 13.

After Tuesday’s hearing, Tisha denied the allegations, saying she neither misappropriated the sari nor committed fraud. She also claimed that the case contained false information and alleged that the complainant had threatened her.

The complainant’s response to her allegations was not immediately available.
