Dakhil pass rate plunges to 55.49% from 68.09%

The pass rate in this year’s Dakhil examination under the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board has plunged by 12.60%age points to 55.49%, from 68.09% last year.
The results of the SSC and equivalent examinations, published on Monday (10 August), showed a sharp deterioration in the performance of madrasa students compared to the previous year.
A total of 296,412 students appeared in this year’s Dakhil examination, of whom 164,797 passed.
Female students outperformed their male counterparts. The pass rate among girls stood at 59.89%, while it was 51.64% among boys.
A total of 6,716 students secured GPA-5 this year. Of them, 3,572 were boys and 3,144 were girls.
A total of 9,141 institutions participated in the Dakhil examination through 741 examination centres this year.
SSC pass rate 64.05pc under nine general boards
A total of 1,404,539 students appeared for the SSC examinations under the nine general education boards. Of them, 899,610 students passed, with a pass rate of 64.05%.
A total of 106,009 students secured GPA-5 under the general education boards.
SSC vocational pass rate 58.20pc
A total of 127,964 candidates appeared for the SSC and Dakhil (Vocational) examinations under the Technical Education Board. Of them, 74,470 were passed and pass rate 58.20.
A total of 3,951 students secured GPA-5 under the board.
