More than 690,000 students fail in SSC, equivalent exams

The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations have been published, with 1,138,877 students passing and 690,608 failing.
The average pass rate across the 11 education boards stood at 62.25%, down from 68.45% last year, marking a decline of 6.2 percentage points.
A total of 1,829,485 students appeared for the SSC and equivalent examinations this year. Of them, 1,138,877 passed, while 690,608 failed. Last year, 600,660 students failed to pass the SSC and equivalent examinations.
Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon announced the results at a press conference held at the conference room of the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education at around 10:00am on Monday (10 August).
