Additional Inspector General of Police (Addl IGP) Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain on Wednesday formally assumed charge as the chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Earlier, he served as Director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI), according to a gazette notification issued here yesterday.
A 15th BCS Police cadre officer, he joined Bangladesh Police as an ASP in 1995.
During his nearly three decade career, he served in CID, DMP, CMP, RAB, Police Headquarters, Police Academy Sardah and as superintendent of police in Pirojpur and Chapainawabganj, gaining extensive experience in investigation, intelligence, training and administration.
He holds a master’s degree in Economics from Islamic University, Kushtia, and a Bar-at-Law from City University of London, UK, and has received specialised training in forensic science and modern policing at home and abroad.
Senior CID officials welcomed him at the charge-taking ceremony.
