The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has directed all government hospitals to continue providing free NS1 tests for dengue diagnosis until 31 December 2026, aiming to strengthen early detection and treatment of the mosquito-borne disease.
The directive was issued in a notification signed by Kazi Sharif Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Secretary of the Government Health Management-1 Branch under the Health Services Division, on Sunday.
According to the notification, the ministry has instructed the relevant authorities to take the necessary steps to ensure that NS1 tests for dengue remain free of charge at all government hospitals until 31 December 2026.
The directive has been sent to the directors of medical college hospitals, civil surgeons, upazila health and family planning officers, and other relevant health officials across the country for information and immediate implementation.
The move comes as Bangladesh continues to strengthen its dengue surveillance and response measures during the peak mosquito breeding season.
