Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has said that the July movement fighters will one day lead the world.
”Just as the July movement opened new possibilities in the country’s politics, the Digital Devices and Innovation Expo will reveal new opportunities in the information technology sector,” the Chief Adviser said after inaugurating the Digital Device and Innovation Expo-2026.Politics
He added, the protests that erupted after the internet was shut down during the July uprising, were a key reason behind the fall of a superpower government.
”The digital sector is now the main sector, because change will come from it. All other sectors will be influenced by this sector.”
Prof Yunus said that although the digitalisation of citizen services exists on paper, it has not been implemented in reality. The government will simply create a system and leave it in the hands of the people. The people will use it in their own way. This is the power of information technology.
The ICT Division, the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) and the Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) are jointly organising the four-day technology showcase with the theme ‘Bangladesh to the World’, which will continue till January 31.
The expo is being organised with the aim of attracting technological innovation, enhancing capabilities, success and investment in the technology sector. It will feature innovation, digital device, mobile and e-sports, along with product discounts and offers.
Entry will remain open for all with online or on-site registration, and the venue will be fully Wi-Fi enabled using satellite internet technology.
