Bangladesh Cultural Days in Riyadh has concluded showcasing Saudi Arabia’s gesture of cultural harmony and its appreciation for expatriate communities.
The Ministry of Media of Saudi Arabia organised the second edition of Global Harmony in cooperation with the General Entertainment Authority, featuring the cultures of 14 countries, including Bangladesh.
The four-day Bangladesh segment ran from 11 to 14 November at Al-Suwaidi Park in Riyadh.
During the programme, thousands of Bangladesh expatriates gathered at the park as it transformed into a mini Bangladesh, with music, dance, DJ performances and colourful cultural displays.
Notable Bangladeshi artistes, including singers Asif Akbar, Monir Khan and Belal Khan, performed at the festival, celebrating Bangladesh’s rich heritage and offering expatriates a taste of home.
The segment was part of a 49-day international cultural festival held under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative.
The programme, hosted by actress Pararthana Fardin Dighi and Robiul Haque Zaman, highlighted Bangladeshi music, art, lifestyle and traditions.
Performers also included Humaira Eshika, Israt Jahan Jui, Pushmita Mitra and DJ Turin, who kept the audiences engaged throughout the event.
On the concluding night, Asif Akbar, Israt Jahan Jui, Pushmita Mitra, Akash Khan and DJ Turin performed from evening until midnight. Daily dance and circus performances further showcased elements of Bangladeshi culture.
Sarry Shaban, spokesperson for Global Harmony Season 2, said the event offered Saudis an opportunity to learn more about Bangladesh and its traditions. “We are proud to host the Bangladeshi community, who are an important part of our Kingdom.”
