3 held with Indian sarees in Habiganj

Police arrested three alleged smugglers and seized a large consignment of Indian sarees from Bahubal upazila of Habiganj district early Friday.
The arrested are Mannan Ahmed, 48 of Kolta village under Harirampur police station in Manikganj district, currently residing in Sylhet uposhahor, Nur Uddin, 32 of Khadimnagar area under Sylhet’s Shah Paran Police Station and Abdur Rouf Rubel, 32 of the same area.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of police led by OC Aminul Islam and SI Md Ibrahim Akand conducted a drive near Baganbari Star Brick Field on the Dhaka–Sylhet Highway at around 5:15 AM and arrested the trio with 255 pieces of Indian georgette sarees from the spot.
Bahubal Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Aminul Islam confirmed the drive.
