761 cases filed against police in 11-month: TIB

Action has been taken against the members of different forces involved in the July uprising killings.A total of 1,168 police members have been accused in 761 cases across the country in the 11 months since the fall of the government,informed Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) on Monday.
The TIB has commented that beyond some departmental measures, there has been no progress in effective accountability against the police, lack of government will and capacity.
Dr Iftekharuzzaman, executive director of TIB, made these remarks at a press briefing held at its office at Dhanmondi.
