National Nagorik Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam on Wednesday said that it will not be accepted if any attempt is made to hold elections without reform and trial.
“If any attempt is made to bring any party to power without reform and trial, it will not be accepted and people will resist it, NCP will resist,” he made this statement while talking to media in the morning after paying his tribute to the Liberation War martyrs by placing wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar, marking the 55th Independence and National Day.
The NCP convener said, “We want to build a democratic state system so that nobody has to shed blood again in the future. The independence of 1971 and 2024 is not contradictory. What we wanted in 1971, we achieved that in 2024. Those who are creating opposition between 71 and 24, have dishonest intentions.”
There is an attempt being made to impose the old constitution, he further added.
“There is a conspiracy to rehabilitate fascism.”
