Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Sakhawat Hossain has said doctors’ talent, skills, patriotism and dedication to serving people are a source of national pride.
He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the Hematology Society of Bangladesh’s seventh annual conference, ‘Hematocon 2026’, at Shaheed Abu Sayeed International Convention Centre in Dhaka on Wednesday (October 14).
The minister said initiatives would be taken to deploy hematologists across the country within a week to strengthen specialised healthcare services.
He also stressed modernising healthcare facilities, installing radiotherapy machines and ensuring advanced treatment for patients with thalassemia and leukaemia.
