Bangladesh keen to participate in Saudi infrastructure projects

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Abdul Moyeen Khan has said on Wednesday that Bangladesh is interested in participating in Saudi Arabia’s development activities, particularly project planning, infrastructure construction and other key sectors.
He expressed hope that opportunities for Bangladesh to participate in Saudi Arabia’s development, productive and construction activities would increase ahead of Saudi Vision 2030, World Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup 2034.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting with Ashraful Haque Chowdhury, president of the Saudi Arabia-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SABCCI).
During the meeting, the SABCCI president congratulated the minister on taking charge of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives on behalf of the chamber’s members and board of directors.
The meeting was also informed that SABCCI plans to organise a “Bangladesh Trade Promotion Mission and Product Catalogue Show” in Saudi Arabia next month.
As part of the initiative, a delegation will meet representatives of chambers of commerce and leading businesspeople in Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah.
Products and services from 10 key sectors of Bangladesh will be showcased and promoted during the programme.
The minister expressed hope that active participation by SABCCI members would help promote Bangladeshi products and services and further expand trade and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.
He wished the initiative success.
