The price of gold in the country has risen by Tk 5,482 per bhori for 22-carat gold, with the new rates taking effect from 10AM on Saturday, as prices increased in the international market.
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the price hike in a notice. The organisation said the new rates were adjusted following an increase in the price of locally traded Tejabi gold.
Under the revised rates, a bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold now costs Tk 246,110. The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 235,030, while 18-carat gold costs Tk 201,845 per bhori.
Gold sold under the traditional method now costs Tk 164,812 per bhori.
