South Korean ambassador meets PM’s defence adviser

South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Kim Ji-jun paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister’s Defence Adviser Brig Gen (retd) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam on Tuesday.
The meeting took place at the office of the Defence Adviser at the Armed Forces Division in Dhaka Cantonment in the afternoon.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged greetings and recalled the longstanding friendly and cordial bilateral relations between Bangladesh and South Korea.
They held detailed discussions on potential areas of South Korean cooperation in modernising and enhancing the capabilities of the Bangladesh Armed Forces.
Both sides expressed a positive attitude towards further strengthening cooperation in military equipment, defence technology exchanges, shipbuilding, joint training and advanced military education.
They also discussed ways to further strengthen the existing defence and diplomatic ties between Bangladesh and South Korea and take them to new heights.
The two sides expressed hope that joint initiatives in the future would further consolidate the friendly relations and defence cooperation between the two countries.
