Three more children die with measles-like symptoms, death toll hits 745 in Bangladesh

Three more children with measles symptoms died in the 24 hours to 8am today (8 July), bringing Bangladesh’s combined tally of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 745.
With the latest update, the number of suspected measles deaths has risen to 652, while the number of laboratory-confirmed measles deaths has reached 93.
A total of 796 new suspected measles cases were reported during the 24-hour period, bringing the cumulative number of suspected cases nationwide to 1,08,180.
Meanwhile, 106 new laboratory-confirmed measles cases were recorded, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 13,070.
Since 15 March, a total of 91,270 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalised across the country, of whom 87,628 have recovered, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) data.
