NCP, Turkish FM engage in bilateral talks

A delegation from the National Citizen Party (NCP), led by Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Md Nahid Islam, met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Friday at a city hotel.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Fidan congratulated the NCP leadership for their pivotal role in the July uprising, which led to the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, the party said in a Facebook post.
In response, the NCP delegation expressed deep gratitude to Türkiye for its steadfast diplomatic support and continued engagement in resolving the Rohingya crisis.
The two leaders discussed a wide range of bilateral and strategic issues, focusing on expanding defense cooperation, boosting bilateral trade, and strengthening overall diplomatic ties.
The NCP leaders also emphasised the high importance of creating robust exchange programmes to foster greater collaboration between the youth of Bangladesh and Türkiye.
Other prominent members of the attending NCP delegation included Member Secretary and Member of Parliament Akhter Hossen, Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwari, Joint Convener and Member of Parliament Atiq Mujahid, International Affairs In-Charge Alauddin Mohammad, and Joint Member Secretaries Homaira Noor and Rafe Salman Rifat.
