Father, son dead from electrocution in Habiganj

Habiganj Correspondent : A father and his son died of electrocution in a repair the electrical connection of a water pump at a house under construction in Bahubal upazila of Habiganj this afternoon.

The deceased were Md Ain Uddin, 50, who lived in the UAE and was from Purba Bhadeshwar village, and his son Rashed Mia, 17.

Quoting locals, Md Iqtar Mia, officer-in-charge of Bahubal Model Police Station, said there was some issue with the electrical line connected to the water pump at Ain Uddin’s under-construction building. While trying to fix the problem, Ain Uddin and his son came in contact with a live wire and suffered severe electric shocks.

Locals rescued them and rushed them to Bahubal Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead on arrival, the OC added.
