Gold prices drop ahead of Eid: What is new price per bhori?

Gold prices in the country have decreased ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. The price of 22-carat gold has been reduced by Tk2,158 per bhori, setting the new rate at Tk 235,963 per bhori.
The new pricing decision was announced by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association in a statement issued on Saturday (23 May). The revised prices came into effect from 10:00 am on the same day.
According to the statement, the new gold prices were determined after considering the overall market situation, particularly the decline in the price of acid gold, or pure gold, in the local market.
Under the revised rates, the price of 22-carat gold in the domestic market stands at Tk 235,963 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Meanwhile, the price per bhori of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 225,232, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk 193,039 per bhori. The price of gold under the traditional method has been fixed at Tk 157,231 per bhori.
Earlier, on the morning of 21 May, BAJUS had last adjusted gold prices in the domestic market. At that time, the organization increased the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 2,158 per bhori, setting it at Tk 238,121.
