A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking an investigation into the role of the advisory council, describing the interim government’s decision to cancel the measles vaccination programme as a case of “criminal negligence.”
The petition also sought a travel ban on former Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus and all members of the advisory council.
The writ was filed on Sunday in the relevant branch of the High Court by Supreme Court lawyer Barrister M Ashraful Islam.
In addition to the Cabinet Secretary, the respondents include the Secretaries of Health, Home Affairs, and Public Administration, as well as the Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services and other relevant government officials.
