Flat scam case against Tulip Siddiq ready for trial

A Dhaka court on Wednesday fixed 19 April for the hearing on charge framing against Tulip Rizwana Siddiq and former RAJUK assistant legal adviser Sardar Mosharraf Hossain in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) over alleged flat fraud in the capital’s Gulshan-2 area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz fixed the new date and transferred the case to Dhaka Special Judge Court-5, as the case is set for trial, bench assistant of the court Md Riaz Hossain said.
“The gazette notification summoning the accused has been published, and the case is ready for trial,” he said.
Earlier, on 26 February, the court ordered the issuance of a Red Notice through Interpol to arrest Tulip Siddiq, as the accused had left the country before the case was filed and is currently abroad.
Earlier, on 18 February 2026, the same court also issued arrest warrants against Tulip Siddiq and Sardar Mosharraf Hossain in the case after accepting the charge sheet.
According to the case statement, the ACC filed the case on 15 April last year against Tulip Siddiq, Shah Md Khorshujjaman, and Sardar Mosharraf Hossain for unlawfully acquiring a flat from Eastern Housing Limited in Gulshan-2 without making any payment and by abusing power.
After completing the investigation, the ACC submitted the charge sheet on 11 December 2025 under Sections 161/165A/467/468/471/109 of the Penal Code and Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947, against Tulip Siddiq and Sardar Mosharraf Hossain.
