Golapganj Social and Cultural Trust UK’s new committee inaugurated and Awards 2026 presented

Bangla Mirror Desk : The inauguration of the newly elected committee of the Golapganj Social and Cultural Trust UK in London, the Golapganj Excellence Award 2026, and the Eid reunion ceremony were held in a joyful atmosphere.

The grand event was held on Sunday (March 29) at the auditorium of the London Enterprise Academy in East London in the presence of Bengali MPs of the British Parliament, teachers, journalists, researchers, politicians, cultural activists and community dignitaries.

Hafiz Tamzid Qadir recited from the Holy Quran at the beginning of the meeting. Chief Election Commissioner Abdul Munim Zahedi Carol presided over the introduction meeting of the newly elected committee at the beginning of the two-part program. Election Commissioner Sayad Ahmed Saad led the speeches and Election Commissioner Selim Uddin Chakladar, President of the newly elected committee Md. Dilwar Hossain, General Secretary Masud Ahmed Joardar, Treasurer Kawsar Ahmed Jaglu and 41 members of the EC and Board of Directors were welcomed with flowers by the Election Commissioners.

The Golapganj Excellence Award 2026 ceremony held in the second phase was presided over by the organization’s newly elected committee president, Md. Dilwar Hossain.

In a ceremony hosted by General Secretary Masud Ahmed Joardar, Saleh Ahmed Khan (successful businessman), Harun Mia (entrepreneur and social worker) and Orin Begum (Lawyer) was awarded the Golapganj Excellence Award-2026 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to human welfare.

Afsana Begum, Member of the British Parliament (MP for Poplar Limehouse constituency), was present as the chief guest at the meeting.

At the event, the organization’s advisor Abu Taher was congratulated with flowers for his recent MBE award.

At the end of the program, artist Banya Talukder performed in a delightful cultural program conducted by the organization’s cultural secretary, Alam Chowdhury.
