Bangladesh have booked their place in the semi-finals of SAFF U-20 Championship 2026 after a convincing 2 “0 victory over Pakistan U-20 in their Group B opener.
Their progression was confirmed when Pakistan suffered a 3 “0 defeat to India U-20 on Thursday, becoming the first team eliminated from the tournament.
Bangladesh will face India in their final group match on Saturday. Both teams currently have three points, but India lead the group on goal difference, having scored one more goal than Bangladesh.
A win for Bangladesh would secure the top spot, while a draw would leave India as group winners.
The semi-finals are scheduled for 1 April, with the winners advancing to the final on 3 April.
With their place in the knockout stage assured, Bangladesh will aim to maintain their momentum and challenge for Group B supremacy in the crucial clash against India.
