He made the remarks during a courtesy meeting with Governor of Bangladesh Bank at the central bank’s headquarters in Dhaka.
Deputy Governor Md Habibur Rahman was also present at the meeting.
During the discussion, Kryshko congratulated the governor and expressed the IMF’s interest in working closely with the newly formed political government that assumed office following a free and fair national election.
He said the IMF is keen to cooperate with the government on maintaining macroeconomic stability and implementing reforms in the financial sector.
According to central bank sources, the meeting also reviewed ongoing economic programmes supported by IMF.
The IMF representative reaffirmed that the global lender would continue providing both technical and financial assistance to help Bangladesh address its economic challenges.
The governor thanked the IMF for its continued support and expressed hope that cooperation between the central bank and the IMF would further strengthen the country’s financial sector in the coming days.
