BNP wins 18 of 19 seats in Sylhet Division

The BNP has secured victory in 18 out of 19 parliamentary constituencies in Sylhet Division.
The remaining seat was won by Mufti Abul Hasan of Khelafat Majlis. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami failed to win a single seat in the division.
According to the announced unofficial results, BNP candidates won five of the six constituencies in Sylhet district.
In Sylhet-1, BNP candidate Khandaker Abdul Muktadir emerged victorious; in Sylhet-2, Tahsina Rushdier Luna, wife of missing BNP leader Ilias Ali, won the seat; in Sylhet-3, Mohammad Abdul Malik secured victory; in Sylhet-4, Ariful Haque Chowdhury won; and in Sylhet-6, Emran Ahmed Chowdhury was elected. The only exception was Sylhet-5, where Khelafat Majlis candidate Mufti Abul Hasan won with the party symbol ‘wall clock’.
In Sunamganj district, BNP candidates swept all five constituencies. Kamruzzaman Kamrul won in Sunamganj-1; Nasir Uddin Chowdhury in Sunamganj-2; Koysor M Ahmed in Sunamganj-3; Nurul Islam Nurul in Sunamganj-4; and Kalim Uddin Milon in Sunamganj-5.
In Moulvibazar district, BNP candidates also secured all four seats: Nasir Uddin Mithu in Moulvibazar-1; Shaukatul Islam Shaku in Moulvibazar-2; M Nasir Rahman in Moulvibazar-3; and Haji Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury in Moulvibazar-4.
BNP likewise won all four constituencies in Habiganj district. Dr Reza Kibria won in Habiganj-1; Dr Sakhawat Hossain Jibon in Habiganj-2; G K Gous in Habiganj-3; and S M Faisal in Habiganj-4.
