Smuggled cumin worth Tk 16 lakh seized in Habiganj

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-55) seized a large quantity of smuggled Indian cumin worth nearly Tk 16 lakh from Madhabpur upazila in Habiganj district early Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, an advance team of 55 BGB Battalion conducted a raid on the Satchhari–Teliapara road in Madhabpur upazila, stopped a suspicious truck and discovered sacks of Indian cumin concealed beneath a truckload of watermelons during the search.
BGB-55 Battalion confirmed the incident and said that both the cumin and the watermelons have been handed over to the relevant customs authorities.
