Sylhet Titans registered their first win of the season after edging past their opponents by one wicket in a tense last-over thriller at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 143 runs, the home side were pushed to the brink despite Parvez Hossain Emon’s half-century. It came down to the final over with 13 needed and two wickets in hand, with Ethan Brookes and Mohammad Amir at the crease.
Noakhali medium-pacer Sabbir Hossain began nervelessly with two dot balls but then bowled a head-high no-ball to Brookes, offering a lifeline that proved costly.
Brookes smashed the ensuing free hit for six and followed it with a boundary to reduce the equation to two runs from three balls. Attempting a quick single on the next ball, Brookes slipped and was run out following a mix-up with non-striker Amir.
Sabbir then bowled a wide to the new batter, Salman Irshad, leaving one run required off the final delivery. Irshad squeezed a single to seal a dramatic win for the Titans.
Earlier, Mehidy Hasan Rana had turned the game on its head with a hat-trick in the 18th over—the ninth by a Bangladeshi bowler in BPL history—while Hasan Mahmud followed up with a tight six-run 19th over.
Hasan had earlier struck twice in his first spell, removing Saim Ayub and Rony Talukdar in successive overs. Rana then outfoxed Zakir Hasan in the powerplay as Sylhet slipped to 34 for three before Emon and captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz repaired the innings.
The pair added 83 off 66 balls before Emon was undone by Zahir Khan’s googly after a fluent 60 off 41 balls, including six fours and two sixes. Miraz made 33 off 37, while Rana finished with 4 for 34.
Noakhali, meanwhile, endured another poor start, slumping to 3 for 9 as Khaled Ahmed and Amir struck early. Amir removed Maaz Sadaqat with an outswinger, while Khaled dismissed Habibul Rahman Sohan and Haidar Ali with a sharp bounce.
Mahidul Islam Ankon steadied the innings with two key partnerships alongside Sabbir Hossain and Jaker Ali, guiding Noakhali to a competitive total. Mahidul anchored the innings with an unbeaten 61 off 51 balls, including three sixes, while Jaker chipped in with a brisk 29 off 17.
Khaled returned career-best BPL figures of 4 for 23, Saim Ayub took two wickets, and Amir finished with one.
