Crowds throng at Suhrawardy Udyan for International Khatme Nabuwat Conference

A huge crowd of devotees thronged Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on Saturday as the International Khatme Nabuwat Conference commenced amid tight security and extensive participation from home and abroad.
The religious congregation began at 9am with inaugural remarks and will continue until 2pm.
From early morning, thousands of scholars, students of madrasas, and devout Muslims from various districts were seen streaming into the venue to take part in the day-long gathering.
The conference has drawn prominent Islamic scholars from five countries, including Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. Distinguished foreign participants include Maulana Fazlur Rahman, Member of Pakistan’s National Assembly and president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan; Islamic thinker Maulana Ilyas Ghuman; Maulana Hanif Jalandhri, secretary general of Wifaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan; and Ahmad Yusuf Binnuri from Yusuf Binori Town Madrasa.
From India, attendees include Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani, rector of Darul Uloom Deoband, and Maulana Mahmood Madani, president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind. Saudi Arabia’s Sheikh Abdur Rauf Makki, deputy chief of the International Khatme Nabuwat Movement, and Sheikh Musab Nabil Ibrahim, professor at Egypt’s Al-Azhar University, are also present.
Leading Bangladeshi scholars have joined the conference as well. Among them are Maulana Shah Muhibbullah Babunagari, amir of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh; Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, chief of Islami Andolan Bangladesh; Maulana Mamunul Haque, amir of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis; Maulana Khalil Ahmad Quraishi, principal of Darul Ulum Hathazari; Maulana Mahmudul Hasan, chairman of Al-Haiyatul Ulia and Befaqul Madarisil Arabia Bangladesh; and Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek, khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
The conference is being presided over by Maulana Abdul Hamid (Pir Saheb, Madhupur), convener of the Combined Khatme Nabuwat Council and amir of the Khatme Nabuwat Protection Committee Bangladesh.
Organisers said the event aims to promote unity and religious awareness among Muslims while highlighting the significance of the finality of prophethood.
