Ariful Haque Chowdhury launches election campaign through shrine visit in Sylhet

Amid the 31-point campaign for state repair announced by nationalist party BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, former mayor of Sylhet City Corporation and advisor to BNP Chairperson Ariful Haque Chowdhury has launched a huge march in favor of paddy sheaves in Sylhet-1 constituency (City Corporation and Sadar Upazila).
In his speech, he expressed hope that the party high command will fulfill the hopes and aspirations of people from all walks of life in Sylhet in selecting candidates for the next national elections.
He started this campaign by visiting the shrine after the Zohar prayers at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) Dargah Mosque on Wednesday (October 22). After distributing pamphlets from the shrine premises, the march passed through Chowhatta-Zindabazar and reached the city’s Court Point for a short rally.
Ulama-e-Keram of various religious institutions of Sylhet, educators of schools, colleges and universities, traditional Hinduism, Christianity, Manipuri community, leaders of various associations in Sylhet, leaders of various business committees, former public representatives, tea workers, transport workers, young generation youth and students, and more than a thousand people of different ages and professions participated in the march. At this time, many took part in the campaign with rice ears in their hands. Many people stood on both sides of the road to welcome Ariful Haque Chowdhury. In his speech, Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, I am a worker of the Nationalist Party, a party founded on the ideals of martyred President Major Ziaur Rahman. This Sylhet is the base of the Nationalist Party. I love the soil and people of this Sylhet. With the aim of building the country, I have appeared before you today with the 31 points announced by my party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
He said, my leader Tarique Rahman has said that he will select candidates in the next election by prioritizing the opinion of the Trinamool. Many are trying to confuse. No one has been nominated yet. The party’s nomination board will meet and announce the final candidate.
Ariful Haque Chowdhury expressed his hope of getting the party’s nomination in Sylhet-1 constituency and said, “Today, through a 31-point campaign, I am seeking the people’s votes in Sylhet-1 one constituency for the paddy sheaf symbol. As a servant of this city corporation, people from all walks of life have participated in the march with unwavering support. Now they will consider whom the party will nominate.
However, we will all jump together in favor of whoever the high command (Parliamentary Board) decides to nominate, and we will work without hesitation to make the party’s candidate victorious.”
Ariful Haque Chowdhury called on everyone to work together to ensure the victory of BNP in Sylhet-1 constituency without creating any kind of division. He expressed his gratitude and thanks to the city residents for supporting him and participating in this huge march.
