Nur regains consciousness, CT scan done

Injured Gono Odhikar Parishad president Nurul Haque Nur as regained consciousness. CT scan has also been underwent.
He opened his eyes on Saturday morning and then he underwent a CT scan.
At 7AM on Saturday, a post on Nur’s official Facebook page read, ”Nurul Haque Nur has been under treatment at the ICU of Dhaka Medical College Hospital after he was injured in an attack on Friday. He has regained partial consciousness and urged everyone to pray for him.”
The post also included two photos showing Nur lying in a hospital bed with a bandage on his nose and an oxygen mask on his face.
Brig Gen Md Asaduzzaman, director of DMCH, said while talking to reporters about Nur’s development, ”The reason behind excessive bleeding was head injury and fractured nose bone. The bleeding was stopped and he regained consciousness.”
On Friday (August 29) night, Nur was injured after law enforcers charged baton on them following a chase and counter-chase between Jatiya Party and Gono Odhikar Parishad activists in the capital’s Bijoynagar.
According to Gono Odhikar Parishad General Secretary Rashed Khan and central leader Abu Hanif, more than a hundred activists, including Nur, were injured.
Nur suffered serious injuries to his nose and was initially treated at Islami Bank Hospital in Kakrail before being transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s ICU.
Gono Odhikar alleges that their peaceful demonstration was attacked from behind by Jatiya Party supporters, prompting law enforcement to intervene forcibly.
Meanwhile, Jatiya Party leaders claimed Gono Odhikar activists assaulted their supporters while marching past their office.
