Motorcyclist killed in Sylhet road crash

A young motorcyclist was killed after his bike crashed into the rear of a truck in Sylhet’s Jaintapur Upazila on Thursday evening.
The accident occurred around 7:30 PM on the Sylhet-Tamabil regional highway in Dema area of Darbast union.
The dead Fahim, 19, son of expatriate Badrul Islam, was a resident of Dema village.
According to eyewitnesses, the motorcycle was heading towards Sylhet from Jaintapur. On the way, it lost control and rammed into the back of a goods-laden truck. The impact caused Fahim to be thrown off the bike, killing him instantly at the scene.
Upon receiving the report, Tamabil Highway Police arrived at the location, recovered the body, and sent it to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Tamabil Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Habibur Rahman confirmed it, saying that the crash caused a temporary disruption to traffic on the Sylhet-Tamabil road, which was later resolved through police intervention.
He added that the motorcycle lost control before colliding with the truck, resulting in the young rider’s immediate death.
