Apu Biswas gets bail in attempt to murder case

Actress Apu Biswas has been granted bail in a case filed over an alleged attempted murder during an anti-discrimination protest.
Apu surrendered before the court of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman on Sunday, through her lawyer sought bail.
Following a hearing, the court granted her bail upon a bond of Tk 10,000.
Her lawyer, Abul Bashar Kamrul, confirmed the development and said that Biswas had earlier secured a six-week anticipatory bail from the High Court on June 2. As that period expired, she voluntarily appeared before the lower court to seek regular bail.
The case, filed with Vatara Police Station, accuses Biswas of attempting to kill one Enamul Haque during a protest. The investigation is ongoing.
