3 day-long nt’l fruit fair held in Habiganj

A three-day-long national fruit fair was held at Chunarughat upazila in Habiganj district on Thursday.

The fair was organised by upazila Department of Agricultural Extension at their office premises with a slogan like “Eat more local fruits, let’s plant fruit trees.”

The fair was inaugurated by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Robin Mia and was presided over by Chunarughat upazila agriculture officer and agriculturist Md Mahidul Islam.

Chunarughat Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Mahbub Alam Mahbub, Chunarughat Government College’s Assistant Professor Md Rabiul Hossain and Md Anisur Rahman, lecturer Mili Akhter Toma, The Daily Observer correspondent MS Jilani Akhonji, many field level officers and employees of the Department of Agricultural Extension were also present, among others.

The speakers spoke about fruit cultivation and proper nutritional needs. They also emphasized increasing fruit production through the use of modern technology and proper planning.

In addition to fruit exhibitions at the fair, awareness leaflets are placed at stalls of the fair.
